Comenzando desde el putter...

“The ideal way to learn the game is to begin with the putter and work backward to the driver. The beginner would undoubtedly learn a lot faster in this manner and a lot better too. For example, if you were to take a person who has never had a club in his hand before and place a ball a foot away from the hole and tell him to make the putt, the chances are he would do it. Then gradually lengthen the distance until you had him standing at the edge of the green and you would find that inside of a week he would be a very good putter.”

"La forma ideal de aprender el juego es comenzar con el putter y luego trabajar hacia atrás hasta el driver. Sin dudas, el principiante aprenderá más rápido y mejor de esta manera. Por ejemplo, si le damos a una persona que nunca haya tomado un palo en sus manos antes para que juegue un putt de unos 30 centímetros, hay muchas chances que lo meta. Luego en forma gradual lo alejamos hasta llegar al borde del green y nos daremos cuenta que en una semana será un muy buen jugador de putter."

Estoy convencido que es la mejor manera de aprender a jugar al golf.
